MTB freeride ace Cameron "Cam" Zink not only jumps the wildest drops, but also likes to develop MTB grips: The Sensus Lite or the Meaty Paws are already providing riders around the world with grip. After three years of development, Zink's Sensus brand is now presenting its first MTB pedal - in its own words: the best flat pedal ever made. Stakes are high!
On the technical side: the non-vertically offset platform is designed to provide a generous pedal surface, while the dimensions (117 mm long x 105 mm wide) and weight (340 grams per set) of the flat pedals have been greatly minimised.
The Crue pedals are equipped with a titanium axle and Igus bushings, which - according to the manufacturer - are primarily used in race jeeps for off-road races. Double ABEC main bearings are intended to provide additional strength and durability. An 8 mm dust seal is designed to make maintenance easier.
To reduce the leverage effect on the axle, the pedal body of the Crue MTB pedal is only eight millimetres away from the crank. This means that the flat pedal hits rocks less and your feet are close to the bike for more control.
In addition, the Sensus Crue pedals are asymmetrically designed and concave on four sides (6 mm or 1/4"); together with the 15 steel pins, they are said to offer nothing less than "the best grip and pedal feel of all pedals on the market" (manufacturer). At a price of just under 300 euros, they are definitely among the most expensive MTB pedals on the markettogether with the Stamp 11 from Crankbrothers.
