With the Proven Carbon Enduro H_Core, British wheel manufacturer HUNT presents a new wheel set that has been specially developed for hardcore enduro use. The wheels should be characterised by a particularly high resistance to punctures and at the same time impress with their low weight.

H_Core technology for high stability
The centrepiece of the new wheels is the H_Core technology. These are carbon fibre reinforced inserts that reinforce the transition between the rim base and sidewall on both sides of the rim. According to HUNT, they increase the stability of the construction and eliminate cavities in the manufacturing process. The rims also come with an anti-splinter layer of 10k carbon fibre, which is applied as the penultimate layer in the layup process. This allows the wheels to withstand more impact energy before breaking, which prevents micro-cracks.

Different rim widths for optimum performance
With the Proven Carbon Enduro H_Core wheels, HUNT uses differently constructed rims for the front and rear wheels. The front wheel has a rim width of 31 millimetres and is spoked with 28 spokes. This should provide maximum traction and steering precision in demanding terrain. The rear wheel has a rim width of 30 millimetres and is equipped with 32 spokes. It also has a 4 millimetre thick rim flange, which increases stability and protects the tyre in the event of a puncture.
New hub system for high loads
The new HUNT H_Ratchet XL 40T hub sits in the centre of the rear wheel. It is specially designed for high loads and has an enlarged inner ratchet ring. According to the manufacturer, the hub can therefore absorb high torques. The freehub also offers an increased engagement angle of 9 degrees, which should reduce pedal kickback. The hub is also equipped with a 17 millimetre thick axle and improved seals.

The HUNT Proven Carbon Enduro H_Core wheels are now available worldwide in limited quantities. In Great Britain, the USA and the EU, HUNT also offers fast local shipping. The price for the wheelset is 1449 euros (RRP).
