Leatt has new MTB grips in stock. The South African manufacturer relies on the new Reaflex 6.0 on its proven technology, which until now has mainly been in its protectors came. At the heart of the new grips is a gel-filled Reaflex core which, according to the manufacturer, has special vibration-damping properties. This technology aims to reduce arm fatigue and increase riding comfort. Leatt states that the material makes it possible to adapt the damping properties to the forces applied - similar to progressive suspension. The manufacturer promises that the gel-filled Reaflex core is particularly efficient at absorbing micro-vibrations.
The outer shell of the Leatt Reaflex 6.0 grips is made of a soft TPR material (Shore hardness of 25A). Leatt has focussed on a well thought-out shape and texture when designing the grips. The outer edge of the grips has more material, resulting in a tapered profile. This variable diameter is intended to reduce pressure on the hand and improve cushioning. The developers have integrated a central support in the palm area to help reduce hand fatigue. Soft, flexible ribs in the area of the thumb and index finger provide improved grip and are designed to prevent slipping. The half waffle pattern and the triangular block profile on the surface of the grips are intended to provide additional traction and control for the fingers.
To cater for different hand sizes, Leatt offers the Reaflex 6.0 grips in two different diameters: A normal version with 33/31 millimetres and a thin version with 31/29 millimetres. The grips are attached using a single, CNC-milled, internal aluminium locking ring. This should not only ensure a secure hold, but also increase the usable grip space. Only a 3 millimetre Allen key is required for assembly and positioning, which, according to the manufacturer, should prevent the screws from rounding off. The outer ends of the handles are closed to provide additional protection against impacts.
The Reaflex 6.0 handles are now available as a stand-alone product >> e.g. available from Maciag Offroad. The price for a pair is 29.99 euros (RRP).
Leatt announces that the grips will soon also be available in combination with all Leatt handlebars as a bar-grip combo pack priced at €119.99. The colour range includes four options: Black, Lava, Peanut and Granite.
