A hiss, a smack. The new SR Suntour Durolux 38 is not really quiet. But there's not much we can criticise about the Taiwanese company's top suspension fork. On the contrary: the € 900 suspension fork for enduro and e-MTBs does its job really well.

The new Suntour Durolux 38 is a solidly built suspension fork with a beefy look. It goes well with powerful E-MTBs and does its job really well here. In the last test of E-MTB enduro bikes she did not have to hide from the Fox 38 or the Rockshox ZEB hide. The response behaviour of the SR Suntour suspension fork in particular is so good that the much more expensive top dogs would have to tremble in terms of comfort. And even when the going gets tough, the Durolux 38 can hold its own.

In demanding terrain, it doesn't have quite as much suspension travel as the competition. Nevertheless, it remains in control even on fast, hard hits. In addition to the good mini mudguard and the quick-release axle, the wide adjustment ranges of the rebound and compression damping are top features. Tuning fans will be delighted with the separately adjustable low and high-speed rebound and compression damping. However, less experienced mountain bikers and e-bikers may find this too much of a challenge.

A table with a basic setup for air pressure and damping could help. Unfortunately, the SR Suntour Durolux 38 doesn't have one. Only the very high weight (around 300 to 400 grams more than the Fox 38 and Rockshox ZEB) dampens the euphoria. Nevertheless, the test results are very positive: very strong function and great value for money.
