From the professional peloton to the hobby workshops
Like many new high-end products, Muc-Off has tested the new lubricant together with road racing teams. Including with Ineos Grenadiers, for whom all-round talent and U23 world champion Tom Pidcock EF Education-Nippo and other selected athletes and national teams. Ludicrous AF was developed to make professional cyclists faster. It had its first outings at the Tour de France 2020. Due to its relatively liquid consistency, the lubricant should penetrate deep into the chain links. As the chain rotates over the chainring and sprocket, the molecules react with the surface of the chain. This creates a liquid shear plane, which helps to reduce friction and therefore power loss. The mixture has self-lubricating properties and synthetic polymers, which should increase the durability of the chain. In addition, the lubrication should last a long time, delay wear and work in wet, dry and dusty conditions - regardless of the temperature.
Last year, Muc-Off already launched a lightweight, oversized rear derailleur cage (L.O.P.S.) surprised. This low-friction tuning part was also developed in collaboration with professional road teams. After the Ludicrous AF lubricant that has now been presented, we can also expect innovative products for drives from the British company in the future.
