A compact bike with three loading zones at the front, in the centre of the bike and at the rear - the innovative concept of a City Utility Vehicle (CUV), which the Koblenz-based manufacturer Ca Go launched at Eurobike 2023, generated a great deal of interest. MYBIKE was able to test ride the new Ca Go CS cargo bike in detail before its Eurobike premiere in June 2023. The testers were particularly impressed by the bike's adaptability to a wide range of everyday transport requirements and to different rider sizes.
After just under six months, the manufacturer is presenting two new products on the Ca Go CS in December:
Firstly, the maximum load limit for the centre rack has been increased to 35 kg, whereas previously only 30 kg could be transported here. This means that a total of 80 kg of luggage can now be distributed across the three loading areas of the Ca Go CS - in addition to the centre rack, 18 kg can be carried on the front rack and 27 kg on the rear rack.
The second innovation is that the new model is now also approved for child seats on the rear carrier. Thanks to MIK-HD technology, the world's first and only system that complies with both the ISO standards for luggage carriers and the standards for bicycle seats, child seats (and other accessories) can be attached to the bike easily and, above all, safely. The compact Cargobike is currently approved for the Bobike Maxi Go MIK HD and Caress X2 child seats. In these specially approved seats, parents can ride their children without any worries in the future.
These two improvements make the CS from Ca Go interesting for an even larger target group. Whether for everyday use, work or sport, with or without a child - thanks to its versatile transport options, the CS is a practical all-rounder. The triple storage space on the compact bike offers various options for optimum weight distribution.
The fact that the Ca Go CS can handle heavy loads well has already been demonstrated in the MYBIKE ride test: The product developers have installed special components for cargo bikes to improve riding comfort. The SR Suntour Cargo 20" Moby 34 suspension fork and the robust, stiff 20-inch wheels are designed to absorb shocks. The Schwalbe Pick-Up Cargobike tyres are specially designed for cargo bikes and offer reliable puncture protection and high traction. This should ensure a dynamic and safe riding experience.
The Ca Go CS electric cargo bike is powered by the tried-and-tested Bosch Cargo Line motor, consisting of the drive unit, a PowerPack 545 Wh battery, an LED remote control and the eBike Flow app. When the cargo bike reaches a speed of over 25 km/h, the motor and gearbox decouple so that the bike is still relatively easy to ride even without the support of the motor.
