Trek Slash 9.9 XTR

The 2022 Trek Slash 9.9 XTR is a highly advanced mountain bike designed for demanding riders. Priced at EUR 11,099, it is a premium model that meets the highest standards in terms of both materials and technology. The frame is constructed from OCLV Mountain Carbon for the main frame and stays, and features an internal storage compartment as well as a tapered head tube design with Knock Block 2.0. The internal Control Freak cable routing, Carbon Armor and Shuttle-Guard provide additional protection and durability. The threaded bottom bracket and ISCG 05 mount are just as high-quality as the magnesium derailleur lever and the Mino Link, which allows for geometry adjustment. The Active Braking Pivot (ABP) system ensures improved control during braking manoeuvres.

The bike’s maximum load capacity is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 13 kg, making it a lightweight yet robust companion. The front and rear brakes are Shimano XTR M9120 hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes, fitted with Shimano RT86 discs (180 mm front and rear). These ensure excellent braking performance in all conditions.

The shifter is a Shimano XTR M9100, 12-speed, which, in combination with the Shimano Dura-Ace/XTR M9100 drivetrain and the Shimano XTR M9101 cassette (10–51 t), ensures precise and fast gear changes. The fork is a RockShox ZEB Ultimate with DebonAir spring and Charger 2.1 RC2 damping, offering 170 mm of travel.

The crankset is an ethirteen LG1 Race Carbon with a 30-tooth chainline and a crank arm length of 170 mm. The bottom bracket is an ethirteen BB20-P with a BSA thread and a width of 73 mm. The handlebars are a Bontrager RSL integrated handlebar/stem unit made from OCLV Carbon, with a rise of 27.5 mm and a width of 820 mm. The grips are Bontrager XR Trail Pro with aluminium clamps.

The headset is an integrated Knock Block 2.0 with a 72-degree radius and sealed cartridge bearings. The tyres are Bontrager SE6 at the front and SE5 at the rear, both in size 29 x 2.50. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Line Pro 30 OCLV Mountain Carbon rims, which are tubeless-ready and feature Rapid Drive 108 hubs.

The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada with austenitic struts and a width of 138 mm, whilst the seatpost is a Bontrager Line Elite Dropper with a travel of 200 mm. The bike’s packaging dimensions are 23 mm wide, 119 mm high and 201 mm long.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 52 mm, a stack of 66 mm, a seat tube length of 50 mm, a top tube length of 68 mm, a head tube angle of 64 degrees, a seat tube angle of 67 degrees, a head tube length of 14 mm, a chainstay length of 44 mm, a standover height of 77 mm and a wheelbase of 130 mm.
