Trek Remedy 9.8

The 2022 Trek Remedy 9.8 is a high-quality mountain bike that stands out for its first-class technical specifications and features. Priced at €6,399, it offers a wide range of features suitable for both challenging trails and the occasional leisure rider.

The Remedy 9.8’s frame is constructed from OCLV Mountain Carbon for the main frame and seat stays, which not only ensures high stability but also reduces the weight to just 13 kg. The frame is fitted with a tapered head tube, the Knock Block system, internal Control Freak cable routing and Carbon Armor. It also features an ISCG 05 mount and a magnesium derailleur hanger. The Mino Link and the ABP (Active Braking Pivot) system further contribute to improved riding dynamics. The frame offers 150 mm of travel and is Boost148-compatible.

The bike’s brakes are fitted with SRAM Code R hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes at both the front and rear, ensuring optimum braking performance. The brake discs measure 180 mm and feature a 6-hole mounting pattern as well as rounded edges.

The bike is fitted with the SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed system, which enables precise and reliable gear changes. The fork is a FOX Performance 38 with Float EVOL air spring and GRIP damping, offering 160 mm of travel.

The cassette is a SRAM Eagle XG-1275 with a range of 10–52 teeth, ensuring a wide variety of gear ratios. The handlebars are Bontrager Line Pro made from OCLV carbon, with a width of 820 mm and a rise of 27.5 mm. The grips are Bontrager XR Trail Pro with aluminium clamps.

The stem is also a Bontrager Line Pro with Knock Block and Blendr compatibility, a length of 45 mm and a 0-degree angle. The tyres are Bontrager SE5 Team Issue in size 27.5 x 2.50, which offer excellent grip on both rough and smooth terrain.

The wheelset consists of Bontrager Line Elite 30 wheels, also made from OCLV Mountain Carbon, and is tubeless-ready. The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada with austenitic rails and a width of 138 mm. The seatpost is a Bontrager Line Elite with 100 mm of travel and MaxFlow technology.

The bike’s geometry comprises a seat tube length of 39 mm, a top tube length of 56 mm, a head tube angle of 66 degrees, a seat tube angle of 68 degrees, a head tube length of 10 mm, a chainstay length of 44 mm, a standover height of 74 mm and a wheelbase of 114 mm. The maximum load capacity is 136 kg.
