The Rail 9 Gen 3’s frame is made from Alpha Platinum Aluminium and features a removable integrated battery (RIB). The tapered head tube and internal Control Freak cable routing contribute to stability and a clean, uncluttered appearance. The magnesium derailleur hanger and Motor Armor provide additional protection and durability. With the Mino Link and the ABP system, the bike offers adjustable geometry and improved suspension performance. The frame is designed for Boost 148 and features a 12 mm thru-axle and 150 mm of travel.

The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada with CrMo rails and a width of 138 mm, whilst the seatpost is a Bontrager Line Elite Dropper with a travel of 170 mm.

Power is provided by a Bosch Performance Line CX motor with Smart System and a magnesium motor housing, which generates a torque of 85 Nm. The battery has a capacity of 625 Wh and is charged using a standard 4 A Bosch charger.
