Trek Rail 9.7 Gen 4

The "Rail 9.7 Gen 4" model from Trek, released in 2024, is a high-quality e-mountain bike available at a price of 6,799 EUR. The main frame is made from OCLV Mountain Carbon and features a 1.8" low top tube. It is compatible with the Bosch System Controller and features a Removable Integrated Battery (RIB). Other features of the frame include the Knock Block 2.0, guided internal cable routing, a seat tube diameter of 34.9 mm, a magnesium shift lever and Motor Armor. The maximum permissible weight is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 24 kg.

The braking system consists of Shimano hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes, fitted at the front with M6100 brake levers and M6120 calipers, as well as a Shimano RT76 disc with a diameter of 203 mm. Alternatively, SRAM Code R hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes with a 200 mm SRAM CenterLine disc can also be used. The rear brake is identical in specification to the front.

Shifting is handled by a Shimano SLX M7100 shifter with 12 speeds. The fork is a RockShox Domain RC with DebonAir and Motion Control damping, offering 160 mm of travel and designed specifically for e-MTBs. The pedals are VP-536 nylon platform pedals.

The crankset is from ethirteen espec Plus and has a crank arm length of 165 mm. The cassette is a Shimano SLX M7100 with a range of 10–51 teeth. The handlebars are Bontrager Comp aluminium bars with a diameter of 31.8 mm, a rise of 15 mm and a width of 780 mm. The grips are Bontrager XR Trail Comp with nylon clamps.

The stem is a Bontrager Rhythm Comp with Knock Block, measuring 50 mm in length with a 0-degree angle. The tyres are Bontrager XR5 Team Issue, which are tubeless-ready and measure 29 x 2.50. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Line Comp 30 components, which are also tubeless-ready.

The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada with steel rails and a width of 138 mm. The seatpost is a TranzX JD-YSP39 with 100 mm of travel, internal cable routing and a diameter of 34.9 mm.

The motor is a Bosch Performance Line CX with Smart System and a magnesium motor housing, delivering a torque of 85 Nm. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube with a capacity of 625 Wh, also part of the Smart System. The charger is the standard Bosch charger with a current of 4 A and a voltage of 230 V.

The packaging measures 23 mm in width, 119 mm in height and 201 mm in length.
