Trek Procaliber 9.6

The "Procaliber 9.6" model from Trek, released in 2024, is a high-quality mountain bike that stands out for its advanced features and light weight. Priced at 2,199 EUR, it offers good value for money for ambitious riders.

The Procaliber 9.6’s frame is made from OCLV Mountain Carbon and features IsoSpeed technology, which absorbs vibrations and thus enhances riding comfort. Other features of the frame include the tapered head tube, the Knock Block, internal cable routing, the Balanced Post Mount disc brake mount and the Boost148 standard. The maximum rider weight is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 11 kg.

The front and rear braking systems consist of Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, specifically the MT501 brake levers and MT500 brake calipers. The front and rear brake discs measure 180 mm and 160 mm respectively and use a 6-hole disc mount.

Shifting is handled by the Shimano SLX M7100 shifter with 12 speeds. The fork is a RockShox Recon Gold RL with DebonAir air spring, Motion Control damper, lockout function and a tapered steerer tube. It offers 110 mm of travel and features the Boost110 standard with a 15 mm Maxle Stealth axle.

The crankset consists of a Shimano MT611 with a steel chainring (32 teeth) and aluminium spider, as well as a press-fit bearing (92 mm). The cassette is a Shimano SLX M7100 with a range of 10 to 51 teeth, also 12-speed. The drivetrain is powered by Shimano Deore M6100 components.

The handlebars are aluminium Bontrager Comp with a width of 720 mm and a rise of 5 mm. The grips are ESI Chunky, whilst the stem is a Bontrager Rhythm Comp with a length of 60 mm and a Knock Block. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Kovee Comp 25 rims, which are tubeless-ready and feature Rapid Drive 108 hubs. The thru-axles are Boost 110 at the front and Boost 148 at the rear.

The saddle is a Bontrager Verse Elite with austenitic struts and a width of 145 mm. The seatpost is a Bontrager Comp made from 6061 aluminium, with a diameter of 31.6 mm and a length of 330 mm.

The bike’s packaging dimensions are 23 mm wide, 119 mm high and 201 mm long. Further geometric data include a reach of 40 mm, a stack of 60 mm, a seat tube length of 39 mm, a top tube length of 57 mm, a head tube angle of 69 degrees, a seat tube angle of 73 degrees, a head tube length of 9 mm, a chainstay length of 43 mm, a standover height of 72 mm and a wheelbase of 108 mm.
