Trek Precaliber 24 8-Gang Federgabel

The "Precaliber 24 8-Speed Suspension Fork" model from Trek, released in 2024, is a versatile children’s bike available for 369 EUR. The frame is made from robust Alpha Silver aluminium and features luggage rack eyelets, a kickstand mount and a replaceable derailleur hanger. The quick-release axle measures 135 x 5 mm. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 80 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 12 kg.

Both the front and rear brakes are aluminium V-brakes, specially adapted for children. The gear lever is a Shimano Tourney RS45 with an 8-speed twist shifter, enabling simple and intuitive operation. The fork is a suspension fork designed specifically for children, featuring a threadless steerer tube and 45 mm of travel.

The bike is fitted with Kids Satellite pedals, which have a 9/16" thread. The crankset is made from a combination of aluminium and steel and features a 32-tooth chainring with a double chain guard, as well as a square taper axle with a sealed cartridge bearing (68 mm). The rear hub is a C-Star freehub with a gear range of 13–34 teeth and an 8-speed drivetrain. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z8.3 chain.

The bike’s handlebars are made of steel, have a clamp diameter of 25.4 mm, a rise of 40 mm and a width of 560 mm. The grips are specially adapted for children’s hands and are 130 mm wide. The stem is a Bontrager Approved aluminium model, also with a clamp diameter of 25.4 mm, a rise of 15 degrees and a length of 60 mm. The headset consists of adjustable ball bearings and is threadless.

The saddle is padded and specially designed for children, including an integrated seatpost with a grip. The seatpost itself is made of steel, has a diameter of 27.2 mm and a length of 300 mm. A side stand is also included.

The bike’s packaging dimensions are 22 mm wide, 68 mm high and 124 mm long. The model is marketed under the name TREK PRECALIBER 24 8S SUS.
