Trek Powerfly 7 Gen 4

The "Powerfly 7 Gen 4" model from Trek, released in 2024, is a high-quality e-mountain bike that boasts a wide range of technical features and is available for €4,799. The bike’s frame is made from Alpha Platinum aluminium and features a removable integrated battery (RIB). The tapered head tube, the internal Control Freak cable routing, the Motor Armor and the Boost148 axle with a 12 mm thru-axle ensure stability and durability. The maximum permissible weight is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 22 kg.

Shimano’s hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes are used at the front and rear – specifically, a combination of the M6100 brake lever and the M6120 brake caliper. The gear lever is a Shimano SLX M7100 with 12 speeds. The RockShox 35 Gold RL fork, featuring DebonAir suspension, Motion Control damping and a lockout, offers 120 mm of travel and is specifically designed for e-MTBs.

The bike is fitted with VP-536 nylon platform pedals and features an ethirteen espec Plus crankset with a crank arm length of 165 mm. The cassette is a Shimano SLX M7100 with a range of 10 to 51 teeth, also in the 12-speed version. The handlebars are made of aluminium, are 750 mm wide and have a 15 mm rise. The grips are Bontrager XR Endurance Elite, and the stem is a Bontrager Rhythm Comp with a diameter of 31.8 mm and Knock Block technology.

The headset is an FSA IS-2, measuring 1 1/8" at the top and 1.5" at the bottom. The tyres are Bontrager XR3 Team Issue, Tubeless Ready with Inner Strength sidewall protection and an aramid bead core, in size 29 x 2.40. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Line Comp 30, also Tubeless Ready and with a 6-hole disc mount.

The saddle is a Bontrager Commuter Comp and the seatpost is a TranzX JD-YSP18 with 130 mm of travel and internal cable routing. At the heart of the drivetrain is the Bosch Performance Line CX motor with Smart System and a torque of 85 Nm. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube with a capacity of 625 Wh, also integrated into the Smart System. The charger is a standard Bosch charger rated at 4 A and 230 V.

The frame geometry comprises a reach of 45 mm, a stack height of 67 mm, a seat tube length of 52 mm and a top tube length of 67 mm. The head tube angle is 68 degrees, the head tube length is 16 mm, the chainstay length is 46 mm and the standover height is 82 mm. The bike’s wheelbase measures 121 mm in total.
