Stevens Sonora 29"

The “Sonora 29” model from Stevens, released in 2024, is a high-performance mountain bike designed for challenging off-road riding. Priced at 2,299 EUR, it offers high-quality components and modern technologies.

The Sonora 29” frame is made from Carbon SL HMF, which not only gives the bike high stability but also a low weight of just 11 kg. The maximum load capacity is 115 kg, providing ample scope for both rider and luggage.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano BL-MT401 brake levers combined with Shimano BR-MT410 brakes at the front and rear. The brake discs are also from Shimano, measuring 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear, ensuring reliable deceleration.

The bike’s drivetrain is fitted with the SRAM SX Eagle RD-SX-1-B1, which offers a 12-speed drivetrain. The shifter is a SRAM NX Eagle Trigger, enabling precise gear changes. The crankset is a SRAM SX Eagle B DUB with 34 teeth, whilst the cassette is a SRAM PG 1210 Eagle, also with a 12-speed range. The Sonora 29” is fitted with a RockShox SID SL fork with 100 mm of travel, which ensures effective damping and control on uneven terrain. The bottom bracket is a Pressfit BB92, which provides additional stiffness and efficiency.

The handlebars and stem are both from the Oxygen Scorpo MTB series, with the handlebars measuring 740 mm in width. The headset is a STEVENS MTB Taper 1 1/8"-1 1/2", which ensures stable steering.

The rims are Oxygen RM-26 Disc, measuring 26 x 622 at both the front and rear. The tyres are Schwalbe Racing Ray at the front and Schwalbe Racing Ralph at the rear, both in size 57-622, which provide excellent grip and control. The hubs are by Strummer: the CLTP model at the front and the CLTP-1 model at the rear.

The saddle is an Oxygen Havoc, which ensures comfort on long rides, and the seatpost is also by Oxygen – the Scorpo MTB.
