Stevens 5X Gent

The “5X Gent” model from Stevens, launched in 2020, offers a balanced combination of robust design and reliable technology. Priced at 799 EUR, it is aimed at value-conscious cyclists who nevertheless prioritise quality and functionality. The bike’s frame is made from 6061 TB aluminium, resulting in a total weight of 13 kg and a maximum load capacity of 130 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic disc brakes, which, together with the Shimano BL-MT200 brake levers, ensure reliable and controlled deceleration. The bike is fitted with the Shimano Deore Shadow RD-M592-SGS, a 3x9-speed rear derailleur. The Shimano Alivio SL-M4000 shift levers and the Shimano Alivio Trekking FD-T4000-TSM6 front derailleur complete the gear system and ensure precise gear changes.

The SR Suntour NCX-D LO fork, with 63 mm of travel, offers comfort and shock absorption on uneven roads and easy trails. The ATB Alu Comp Reflex pedals ensure a secure grip and efficient power transfer. The bottom bracket is a BSA 73 mm, whilst the Shimano FC-T4010 crankset is fitted with 48-36-26 teeth. The Shimano CS-HG201 cassette offers a 9-speed setup, providing a wide range of gear ratios.

The handlebars, an Oxygen Driver with a width of 640 mm, together with the Oxygen Driver stem and the STEVENS AH 1 1/8" headset, ensure comfortable and stable handling. The rims are Oxygen COMP-D A19, 19 x 622, combined with Schwalbe Smart Sam Active-Line tyres in size 42-622, which ensure good traction and durability. The hubs are Shimano HB-M3050 at the front and FH-M3050 at the rear.

The saddle, an Oxygen Havoc, together with the Oxygen Driver seatpost, offers comfort even on longer rides. Overall, the Stevens 5X Gent is a well-equipped bike that is suitable for both everyday use and longer tours.
