Scott Scale 20 rigid

The "Scale 20 rigid" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a robust and versatile children’s bike designed for young riders. It is priced at 499 EUR and offers a range of technical features and specifications that ensure both safety and riding enjoyment.

The bike’s frame is made from an aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061) and is fitted with a semi-integrated head tube. The frame is specifically designed for use with disc brakes and features SCOTT dropouts as well as an IS brake mount. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 50 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 9 kg.

The braking system consists of mechanical disc brakes from Tektro (model SCM-02), which are operated by Tektro JL-510 TS / RS brake levers. Both the front and rear are fitted with 160 mm brake discs, which ensure reliable braking performance. The gear system utilises Shimano RD-TY300 components and offers 7 gears, operated via a Shimano SL-RS 36-7 Revo shifter.

The rigid fork is also made from an aluminium alloy (AL-6061) and is designed to accommodate IS brake mounts. The pedals are MARWI SP-700 models and feature reflectors for added safety. The bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 model with a cartridge and square taper design. The crankset is from Prowheel and consists of a 127 mm aluminium crank with a 36-tooth chainring and a double chain guard (CG PVG double cover). The cassette is a SunRace CSM40 model with 7 speeds and a range of 11–34 teeth. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC Z7 chain.

The handlebars are aluminium Junior Flat-Bar with a width of 540 mm, whilst the grips are Syncros Youth 100/80 Grip models. The stem is a LEADTEC LCS-7130 model with a length of 50 mm and a clamp diameter of 25.4 mm. The headset is a Feimin FP-H807 model with a semi-integrated design and a diameter of 1 1/8 inches.

The rims are Shining V-6NS Disc models, fitted with Kenda K1227 Booster tyres in size 20x2.4" and with a TPI of 30. The hubs are Formula DC-19F (front) and Formula DC-25-7-R (rear) models, both fitted with quick-release (QR) mechanisms. The spokes are black and have a gauge of 15G / UCP.

The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro model, mounted on an aluminium seatpost measuring 26.8x250 mm. A handy kickstand is also included for secure parking.

The bike is supplied in packaging measuring 21 mm wide, 64 mm high and 110 mm long. The gross weight of the packaging is 13 g. The model is known as the “SCO Scale 20 rigid one size” and offers a balanced combination of performance, safety and comfort for young riders.
