Scott Scale 20

The "Scale 20" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a high-quality children’s bike that stands out for its solid build quality and well-thought-out features. The bike’s frame is made from a robust Scale 20 Junior Alloy 6061 alloy with a semi-integrated head tube and SCOTT dropouts designed for V-brakes. The maximum load capacity is 50 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 10 kg.

Lee-Chi TX-119L brakes, which have been specially developed for children, have been fitted. The brake levers are from Tektro and are the JL-510 TS / RS models. The gear system features a Shimano RD-TY300 with 7 speeds, operated via the Shimano SL-RS 36-7 Revo shifter. The fork is an SR Suntour XCT-JR 20 with 40 mm of travel and a softer spring configuration, specifically tailored to children’s lower body weight.

The pedals are MARWI SP-700 models with reflectors, and the bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 with cartridge technology and a square taper. The crankset consists of a Prowheel aluminium crank with a length of 127 mm and a 36-tooth chainring fitted with a PVG double cover. The cassette is a SunRace MFM300 with a 7-speed range of 13–34 teeth, and the drivetrain uses a KMC Z7 chain.

The handlebars are aluminium Junior flat bars with a width of 540 mm, and the grips are Syncros Youth 100/80 grips. The stem is a LEADTEC LCS-7130, 50 mm long with a clamp width of 25.4 mm. The headset is a Feimin FP-H807, semi-integrated with a diameter of 1 1/8 inches. The rims are Shining V-6NS models, and the tyres are Kenda K1227 Booster in size 20x2.2" with a 30 TPI casing. The front and rear hubs are KT-122F and KT-122R models respectively, with nut fastenings, and the spokes are black 15G UCP models.

The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro, and the seatpost is made of aluminium, measuring 26.8x250 mm. A handy kickstand is also included. The bike is supplied in packaging measuring 21 mm wide, 63 mm high and 111 mm long, and has a gross weight of 14 g. The “Scale 20” model is available in yellow and costs 429 EUR.
