Scott Ransom 920

The 2022 "Ransom 920" model from Scott is a high-performance mountain bike designed for challenging trails and intense rides. It is available at a price of 4499 EUR. The Ransom 920’s frame is made from Ransom Alloy SL 6011 and is specifically tailored to the needs of riders who wish to use both 27.5” and 29” tyres. With a maximum load capacity of 128 kg and a kerb weight of 15 kg, the bike offers a robust yet lightweight construction.

The bike is suitable for riders between 170 cm and 180 cm tall and features high-performance Shimano M6120 4-piston disc brakes. The front brake disc has a diameter of 203 mm, whilst the rear brake disc measures 180 mm; both are fitted with the Shimano SM-RT76 6-bolt system. The drivetrain consists of the SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed groupset, controlled by the SRAM NX Eagle trigger shifters.

The Ransom 920’s fork is the FOX 38 Float Performance Air with 170 mm of travel, fitted with a 3-mode system (Lockout, Traction Control, Descend) and a 15x110 mm QR axle system. The rear shock is the FOX NUDE T EVOL Trunnion, also featuring a 3-mode system and up to 170 mm of travel.

The bottom bracket is an integrated SRAM DUB PF with a shell width of 41x92 mm. The crankset consists of the SRAM NX Eagle DUB Boost with a 32T chainring. The cassette is a SRAM NX / PG1210 with a 11–50T range, and the drivetrain uses the SRAM CN NX Eagle chain.

The handlebars are Syncros Hixon 1.5 Rise made from Alloy 20140D.B., with a width of 780 mm, a rise of 20 mm and a backsweep of 8 degrees. The grips are Syncros Pro lock-on grips. The stem is a Syncros XM1.5 made from 6061 alloy, with integrated spacers and a top cap, and has a length of 50 mm.

The wheelset consists of Syncros Revelstoke 2.5 6-bolt rims, which are tubeless-ready and 30 mm wide. The tyres are Maxxis Assegai at the front and Maxxis Dissector at the rear, both 2.6" in size and featuring EXO/EXO+ protection.

The saddle is a Syncros Kaslo 2.0 with CrMo rails, and the seatpost is a Syncros Duncan 2.0 dropper post with a diameter of 31.6 mm and varying travel lengths depending on frame size. The bike is also fitted with a Fox 38 mudguard.

The Ransom 920’s geometry features a reach of 440 mm, a stack of 614 mm, a seat tube length of 440 mm, a top tube length of 604 mm, a head tube angle of 65 degrees and a seat tube angle of 75 degrees. The head tube length is 100 mm, the chainstay length is 438 mm, the bottom bracket drop is 22 mm and the fork offset is 51 mm. The standover height is 746 mm, the fork installation height is 577 mm and the wheelbase is 1216 mm in total. The bottom bracket height is 354 mm.
