Scott Ransom 600

The "Ransom 600" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a versatile mountain bike priced at 1999 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from a special alloy – the Ransom 24"/26" Alloy 6061 Custom butted tubing – and features a tapered headtube, a BB73 bottom bracket and internal cable routing. The UDH mount and the 148x12mm axle complete the frame design. The maximum rider weight is 80 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 13 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano BR-MT500 brakes in combination with Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers. The front and rear brake discs measure 180 mm and 160 mm respectively, both of the Shimano Deore SM-RT56 type. Gear changes are handled by an 11-speed Shimano Deore RD-M5100 rear derailleur, controlled via the Shimano Deore SL-M5100-R shifter.

Front suspension is provided by an X-Fusion Slant RC 26 fork with 140 mm of travel, specially tuned for children. The rear shock is an X-Fusion 02Pro R Trunnion with adjustable rebound and 130 mm of travel. The pedals are Wellgo, model J345, and feature reflectors.

The drivetrain consists of a Prowheel BB73 bottom bracket, a Prowheel CHARM-32T 2P crankset (Boost / 140 mm), a Shimano CS-M5100-11 cassette (11-51) and a KMC X11 chain. The handlebars are Syncros T-Bar made from 6061 alloy, with a width of 640 mm and a rake of 9°. The grips are Syncros Youth 115. The stem is also made from Syncros 6061 alloy and has an oversized diameter of 31.8 mm and a 7° angle.

The headset is a Syncros OE Press Fit, designed for reduced diameters from 1.5" to 1 1/8". The rims are Syncros DP30 with 32 spokes and a width of 30 mm. The tyres are Kenda Hellkat K1201, sized 26x2.4. The hubs are by Formula: the DC-71 IS (15x110 mm) at the front and the DC-3248 IS (Boost 12x148 mm) at the rear. The spokes are black stainless steel spokes with a diameter of 1.8 mm.

The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro, and the seatpost is a Syncros Dropper Ducan Remote with a diameter of 31.6 mm and a travel of 80 mm, specially tuned for children. The bike’s gross weight is 23 g. The model is available in one size and is designated the SCO Ransom 600 One size.
