Scott Ransom 600

The 2021 Scott Ransom 600 is a high-quality mountain bike designed specifically for young riders. Priced at 1,799 EUR, it offers a wide range of technical features and specifications that make it an excellent choice for ambitious young mountain bikers.

The Ransom 600’s frame is made from a robust and lightweight aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061) with custom-butted tubing. It is designed for 24"/26" wheels and features a tapered head tube and a bottom bracket width of 73 mm (BB73). The internal cable routing and the UDH standard (Universal Derailleur Hanger) ensure a clean look and easy maintenance. The bike weighs a total of 13 kg.

The braking system utilises Shimano BR-MT500 disc brakes, which, in combination with the Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers, deliver reliable braking performance. The brake discs measure 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear (Shimano Deore SM-RT56), ensuring optimum braking power.

The Ransom 600’s gear system is based on the Shimano Deore RD-M5100 11-speed rear derailleur, controlled by the Shimano Deore SL-M5100-R shifter. The drivetrain is supported by a KMC X11 chain, whilst the cassette (Shimano CS-M5100-11) has a range of 11–51 teeth. The crankset is a Prowheel CHARM-32T 2P with Boost specifications and a crank arm length of 140 mm.

The bike’s suspension consists of an X-Fusion Slant RC fork with 140 mm of travel and an X-Fusion 02Pro R trunnion shock with 130 mm of travel. Both suspension components are specifically tailored to children’s needs.

The bottom bracket is a Prowheel BB73, whilst the handlebars are Syncros T-Bar made from 6061 alloy, with a width of 640 mm and a 9° rake. The stem is also made from Syncros 6061 alloy, with a diameter of 31.8 mm and a 7° angle. The headset is a Syncros OE Press Fit, designed for reduced head tube diameters (1.5"–1 1/8").

The wheelsets consist of Syncros DP30 rims with a width of 30 mm and are fitted with Kenda Hellkat K1201 tyres in size 26x2.4. The hubs are a Formula DC-71 IS at the front (15x110 mm) and a Formula DC-3248 IS at the rear (Boost 12x148 mm), connected by black stainless steel spokes (15G / 1.8 mm).

The saddle is a Syncros Belcarra 2.5, fitted to a Syncros Dropper Ducan Remote seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm and a travel of 80 mm, which has been specially adapted for children.
