Scott Genius 940

The 2022 Scott Genius 940 is a versatile mountain bike designed for challenging trails and off-road riding. The bike’s frame is made from Genius Alloy SL 6011, a specially machined aluminium alloy which, in combination with the VLK Virtual 4 Link Kinematic, delivers optimum suspension performance. The frame is compatible with both 27.5" and 29" tyres and features a Geo-BB adjustment as well as a TBC Trunnion Box construction. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 128 kg, whilst its kerb weight is 14 kg.

The Genius 940’s braking system consists of Shimano MT520 4-piston disc brakes, fitted with a 203 mm Shimano SM-RT64 CL brake disc at the front and an 180 mm disc at the rear. This ensures reliable and powerful braking performance in all conditions. The bike’s gear system is provided by a Shimano XT RD-M8100 SGS rear derailleur with Shadow Plus technology and 12 speeds. The gears are operated via a Shimano Deore SL-M6100-R Rapidfire Plus shifter.

Suspension is provided by a RockShox Revelation RL3 Air fork with 150 mm of travel. The fork features a customisable Charger 3-Mode damper as well as lockout and rebound adjustments. The rear shock is a FOX Float EVOL Performance Trunnion, which also features three modes (Lockout, Trail, Descend) and a rebound adjustment, and offers a travel of 150 mm.

The bottom bracket is a Shimano BB-MT500, whilst the crankset consists of a Shimano FC-MT611-1 with 32 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M6100-12 with a 10–51-tooth range, combined with a Shimano Deore CN-M6100 chain. The handlebars are Syncros Hixon 2.0 made from 6061D.B. aluminium, with a width of 780 mm, a rise of 12 mm and a backsweep of 9 degrees. The grips are Syncros Pro Lock-On grips.

The stem is a Syncros FL2.0 made from 6061 aluminium, with a 6-degree angle and a length of 40 mm. The headset is a Syncros Pro Press Fit E2, characterised by its tapered shape. The rims are Syncros X-30S, tubeless-ready and 30 mm wide. The tyres are a Maxxis Dissector at the front and a Maxxis Rekon at the rear, both 2.6" in size and tubeless-ready.

The hubs are a Shimano HB-MT410-B CL at the front and a Shimano FH-MT410-B CL at the rear, each featuring the Boost standard (15x110 mm at the front and 12x148 mm at the rear) and Micro Spline. The spokes are made of black stainless steel (15G / 1.8 mm). The saddle is a Syncros Tofino 2.5 Regular, mounted on a Syncros Duncan Dropper Post 2.5 seatpost, which offers a travel of 100 mm to 150 mm depending on frame size.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 406 mm, a stack of 600 mm, a seat tube length of 410 mm, a top tube length of 570 mm, a head tube angle of 65 degrees and a seat tube angle of 75 degrees. Other dimensions include a head tube length of 95 mm, a chainstay length of 438 mm, a bottom bracket drop of 27 mm, a fork offset of 51 mm, a standover height of 740 mm, a fork installation height of 557 mm and a wheelbase of 1166 mm. The bottom bracket height is 346 mm.
