A well-rounded bike: anyone looking for a sporty yet versatile 29er should give the Genius a try.

Scott's newly developed 29er Genius definitely belongs in this test group. Carbon main frame, adjustable suspension, 130 mm travel - already promising on paper. The Genius also kept its promises in the BIKE test lab (harmonious geometry, good measurements) and even more so on the trail: "Agile, sporty, appears light, good riding position", noted the testers in the uphill handling criterion. The suspension can be set to sporty and firm with the left thumb (traction mode). "Controlled, fast, balanced" is written in the test form under downhill handling. The suspension absorbs a lot, is plush and secure. With its concept, the Genius is one of the best 29ers on the market.

ConclusionA well-rounded bike: If you're looking for a sporty yet versatile 29er, you should give the Genius a try.

PLUS Sporty character, triple cranks, well thought-out frame (protection against chain jamming etc.), suspension adjustment
MINUS No telescopic support, rear somewhat insensitive in traction mode, weight limit 110 kg

The alternative
Aluminium instead of carbon: The Genius 930 with aluminium chassis rolls onto the starting line for 3299 euros. According to the factory specification, 500 grams heavier, the two models hardly differ in terms of equipment.
