Scott Genius 940

The 2021 "Genius 940" model from Scott is a high-quality mountain bike, available at a price of 3,699 EUR. This bike is characterised by its lightweight and robust frame, which is made from Genius Carbon with IMP Technology. The main frame is made from HMF material, whilst the swingarm is made from an aluminium alloy (SL 6011). The frame is compatible with tyres in sizes 27.5" (2.6 & 2.8) and 29" (2.4 & 2.6) and features a BB92 bottom bracket as well as SW dropouts for Boost 12x148mm. The bike’s total weight is 14 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano MT520 4-piston disc brakes, fitted with a 203 mm Shimano SM-RT64 CL rotor at the front and an 180 mm Shimano SM-RT64 CL rotor at the rear. The drivetrain consists of a SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed system, operated by a SRAM SX Eagle Trigger shifter. The drivetrain comprises an SRAM X1 Eagle DUB Boost crankset with a 32T chainring and an SRAM SX-PG1210 cassette with a 11–50T range.

The Genius 940’s suspension is provided by a FOX 36 Float Rhythm Air fork and a FOX Float EVOL Performance Trunnion rear shock. Both offer 150 mm of travel and feature various adjustment modes (Lockout, Trail, Descend) as well as rebound adjustment.

Further features include an SRAM DUB PF integrated bottom bracket, Syncros Hixon 2.0 handlebars made from an aluminium alloy (6061D.B.) with a 12 mm rise and a width of 780 mm, as well as Syncros Pro Lock-On grips. The stem is a Syncros FL2.0 made from aluminium (6061) with a 6° angle and an integrated top cap.

The wheelsets consist of Syncros X-30S rims, which are tubeless-ready and fitted with Maxxis Dissector (front) and Maxxis Rekon (rear) tyres, both 2.6" in size and featuring EXO protection. The hubs are by Formula (front: CL-811 / rear: CL-148S Boost), and the spokes are black stainless steel (15G / 1.8mm).

The bike is rounded off with a Syncros Tofino 2.0 Regular saddle with CRMO rails and a Syncros Duncan Dropper Post 2.5 seatpost, which offers different travel lengths depending on frame size (100 mm for size S, 125 mm for size M, and 150 mm for sizes L & XL). The bike is also fitted with Syncros Trail mudguards.
