Lapierre PRORACE 24 SL

The PRORACE 24 SL model from Lapierre, released in 2025, is a versatile children’s bike that impresses both in terms of its features and its value for money. Priced at 549 EUR, the bike offers a solid foundation for young cyclists looking to gain their first off-road experience. The frame of the PRORACE 24 SL is based on the Lapierre Kids 24" SL with a 135/100 geometry and is designed for V-brakes. The bike’s braking system is entirely from Tektro, featuring the 837AL model for the brakes and the TS325A for the brake levers, both of which are made from aluminium to ensure lightweight yet robust braking performance.

The PRORACE 24 SL is fitted with a Shimano Acera 8-speed groupset, operated via the Shimano M315 shifter, offering a wide range of gear ratios, ideal for various types of terrain. The drivetrain is complemented by the KMC Z8.1 chain. The Samox crankset is made from aluminium and contributes to the bike’s high-quality specification. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG31 with a range of 11–34 teeth, allowing for adaptable gear selection.

Comfort and control are ensured by the XLC Junior handlebars, 560 mm wide, combined with Velo grips and a Kalloy AS-M05 stem. The headset is a semi-integrated FSA NO.10 ED 1-1/8", which contributes to stability and steering precision. The Shining MT-46 hollow-section aluminium rims, together with the Kenda Small Block 8 tyres, provide a reliable and durable foundation for riding on a variety of surfaces. Both hubs, front and rear, are KT AZER HG models, ensuring a smooth ride.

The DDK D992 saddle, together with the HL-Corp seat clamp, rounds off the bike and provides the necessary comfort for longer rides. The VP 225 plastic pedals are fitted with reflectors to enhance safety in low-light conditions.
