Lapierre OVERVOLT HT 8.8

The Lapierre OVERVOLT HT 8.8, launched in 2025, is a modern e-mountain bike characterised by high-quality components and well-thought-out geometry. Priced at 4,299 EUR, it offers good value for money for discerning riders. The bike’s frame is made from Lapierre’s eCRP V3 High MTB material and is designed for post-mount disc brakes. The maximum load capacity is 130 kg, promising a robust construction and stability.

The bike is fitted with Shimano BR-MT410 brakes, featuring 203 mm discs at both the front and rear, which, in combination with the Shimano BL-MT401 brake levers, ensure reliable braking performance. The brakes are combined with Shimano RT30-L Centre Lock brake discs, ensuring easy maintenance and good braking power. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano CUES RD-U6000 11-speed rear derailleur with Shadow+ technology, operated via Shimano CUES U6000 Rapidfire shifters. This enables precise and fast gear changes.

The RockShox Psylo fork offers 120 mm of travel and ensures comfort and control on uneven terrain. The aluminium steerer tube is tapered (1 1/8 – 1 1/2'') and the fork is fitted with a 15 x 110 mm thru-axle to the Boost standard. The cassette is a Shimano Cues CS-LG400-11 with a range of 11–50 teeth, offering a wide gear range for different types of terrain.

The bike’s handlebars are the Lapierre Thirty One, with a width of 760 mm and a rise of 15 mm, which allows for a comfortable riding position. The grips are also by Lapierre, whilst the stem is the Lapierre Alloy 40 A-Head model. The rims are Ryde Disc30 aluminium rims, combined with Maxxis Minion DHF tyres at the front and Maxxis Rekon tyres at the rear, which provide good grip on various surfaces.

The hubs are Shimano TC500 models, fitted with a 15x110 mm axle at the front and a 12x148 mm axle at the rear, both to the Centre Lock standard. The saddle is a Selle Royal Vivo Man model, mounted on a Lapierre Dropper telescopic seatpost with 100 mm of adjustment, allowing for quick adjustment of the seat height.

The OVERVOLT HT 8.8 is powered by a Bosch Performance CX motor with an output of 250 W and a torque of 85 Nm, which provides assistance up to a speed of 25 km/h. The Bosch PowerTube battery, with a capacity of 800 Wh, ensures a long range, whilst the Bosch Kiox 300 display, together with the Bosch LED remote control unit, enables intuitive operation. The charger is a Bosch charger with a 4A charging current.

The bike’s geometry features a reach of 432 mm, a stack of 674 mm, a head tube angle of 67 degrees and a seat tube angle of 74 degrees. The head tube length is 140 mm, the chainstay length is 475 mm and the bottom bracket drop is 65 mm. The fork offset is 51 mm with a fork installation height of 543 mm, and the wheelbase measures 1216 mm in total. This geometry ensures a balance of riding stability and agility on trails.
