Lapierre OVERVOLT AM 9.8

The Lapierre OVERVOLT AM 9.8 from 2025 presents itself as a state-of-the-art e-mountain bike that has been specially developed for demanding off-road riding. With a price tag of EUR 7899, it is aimed at ambitious riders who value quality and performance. The frame of the model, the Lapierre Overvolt AM BDU38, offers excellent damping properties with a suspension travel of 160 mm and is designed for post-mount disc brakes. The permissible total weight is 120 kg, which emphasises the robust construction and high load capacity.

Braking power is provided by Sram Maven brakes with aluminium components, which are equipped with a 220 mm brake disc at the front and a 200 mm brake disc at the rear. The brake levers are also made of aluminium, which enables reliable and precise control. Shifting is covered by the Sram GX Eagle AXS T-Type 12-speed system, which, in combination with the Sram AXS POD shift lever, allows precise and fast gear changes.

Suspension is provided by the FOX Float 38 Performance fork with an air shock and a thru-axle in Boost format, while the FOX Float X Performance Elite shock with a travel of 160 mm also ensures a comfortable ride. The pedals are VP VPE-527 Alloy models with reflectors for additional safety. The drivetrain consists of a Sram GX Eagle T-Type 12s system, supported by a Sram XX T-Type sprocket with 34 teeth and a Sram XG-1275 Eagle cassette with a gear ratio of 10-52T.

The handlebar is a Lapierre Thirty Five Alloy 6061 DB with a width of 800 mm and a rise of 30 mm, which in combination with the Lapierre Thirty Five Alloy stem ensures stable steering. The tyres are Continental Kryptoptal F at the front and Continental Kryptotal R at the rear, mounted on a Lapierre eAM+ Alloy wheelset, which provides excellent traction and durability in a wide range of terrain conditions.

The saddle is a Selle Royal Terra Aidon model, mounted on a Lapierre Dropper telescopic seat post with an adjustment range of 150 mm, which allows flexible adaptation to different riding situations. The drive of the e-bike is provided by the Bosch Performance CX motor, which supports a maximum speed of 25 km/h with an output of 250 W and a torque of 85 Nm. The Bosch PowerTube battery with a capacity of 800 Wh ensures a long range, while the Bosch Kiox 300 display together with the Bosch Mini Remote control unit enables intuitive control.

With a geometry characterised by a reach of 455 mm, a stack of 641 mm, a head tube angle of 64 degrees and a seat tube angle of 77 degrees, the OVERVOLT AM 9.8 offers a good balance between stability and agility. Other important dimensions include a head tube length of 110 mm, a chainstay length of 460 mm and a bottom bracket drop of 30 mm. The wheelbase is 1248 mm with a bottom bracket height of 340 mm, resulting in a bike that excels on both steep climbs and technical descents.
