Husqvarna E-Bicycles Light Cross LCjr 24

The “Light Cross LCjr 24” from Husqvarna E-Bicycles, launched in 2021, is a high-quality e-bike designed specifically for younger riders. Priced at 2399 EUR, this model offers a solid combination of performance and features. The bike’s frame is made from a robust aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061) and is designed as a hardtail for children, ensuring a good balance between stability and weight. The maximum load capacity is 100 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 20 kg.

The LCjr 24 is fitted with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes (HD-M275), which feature a 180 mm front brake disc for reliable braking performance. Gear changes are handled by a Shimano Altus 9-speed system (RD-M2000), which, together with the matching shift levers (SL-M2000), enables precise and smooth gear selection. The SR Suntour XCT-JR fork, with 80 mm of travel, provides additional comfort on uneven terrain.

Other features include aluminium pedals and a Husqvarna crankset with a length of 155 mm. The cassette is a Shimano Altus CS-HG200 with an 11–36T range. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC X9 chain. The handlebars are 680 mm wide and are fitted with ergonomic Husqvarna grips, which ensure a secure grip. The stem is 60 mm long and has an 8° angle, which contributes to a comfortable riding position.

The rims are from Alex Rims (MD19) and are fitted with Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres in size 24x2.10, which provide good traction on a variety of surfaces. The hubs are also from Husqvarna, with the front hub (DB-600F) and rear hub (DB-600R) both featuring a 6-bolt system.

Power is provided by a Shimano STePS DU-E5000 motor with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 40 Nm. The motor is powered by a Shimano battery (BT-E8014) with a capacity of 418 Wh, which provides sufficient energy for longer rides. The Shimano SC-E7000 LED display with ANT+ and Bluetooth allows for easy control and monitoring of the system settings.

The saddle is an ergonomic model from Husqvarna, which, together with the aluminium seatpost (31.6 mm diameter), ensures comfort. Overall, the Light Cross LCjr 24 offers a well-thought-out specification tailored to the needs of young riders and is ideal for getting started in the world of e-bikes.
