HoheAcht Mola Vojo Kastanie

The “Mola Vojo Kastanie” model from HoheAcht, released in 2021, is a versatile bike that, at a price of 4,299 euros, is positioned in the upper mid-range. The bike’s frame is made of aluminium and is designed as a full-suspension SUV, ensuring a comfortable and stable ride on a variety of surfaces.

The braking system is fitted with high-quality components: Shimano BR-M7120 4-piston brakes are used at the front, whilst Shimano BR-M7100 2-piston brakes are fitted at the rear. This ensures reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano Deore XT 12-speed system, which, together with the Shimano Deore XT SL-M8100 shift levers, ensures precise and smooth gear changes.

The bike’s lighting is provided by a battery-powered lighting set at both the front and rear, which enhances visibility and safety in low-light conditions. The Marwi SP-160 pedals provide a stable platform for the rider’s feet. The crankset is fitted with a Shimano Steps EP8 motor, which delivers 85 Nm of torque and features a 170 mm crank arm length and a 36-tooth chainring. The rear cassette is a Shimano Deore XT CS-M8100, which, with 12 speeds and a range of 10–51 teeth, offers a wide range of gear ratios.

The drivetrain is supported by a KMC x16 chain. The handlebars are made from H8 aluminium, measure 31.8 mm in diameter and are 720 mm wide, providing good control. The grips are Ergon GE10 Evo, which ensure comfort and a secure grip. The stem is also made from H8 aluminium, measures 60 mm and has an angle of ± 7°. The Acros industrial-grade headset contributes to the bike’s durability and reliability.

Mach1 Trucky 30 rims in size 27.5” have been chosen for the wheels, fitted with Schwalbe Nobby Nic Performance tyres in size 65-584. This combination offers good grip and stability on a variety of terrains. The hubs are from Formula Disc, with dimensions of 15x110 mm at the front and 12x148 mm at the rear, both fitted with the Centre Lock system.

The Selle Royal Essenza Plus saddle offers comfort even on longer rides, whilst the Kind Shock LEV-SI seatpost with a 125 mm dropper suspension function provides additional adjustability. An Atran Velo Rex HV kickstand, 40 mm wide, provides a stable base when the bike is parked.

The motor is powered by a high-performance Shimano EP8, which is fed by a 500 Wh battery, providing sufficient assistance for longer distances. Overall, the Mola Vojo Kastanie is a well-equipped bike suitable for both urban and adventure riding.
