Hercules Urbanico GR I-11

The Hercules Urbanico GR I-11, a 2023 model, is a versatile e-bike designed for urban use. Priced at 3,199 EUR, it offers a balanced combination of functionality and comfort. The frame is from the eUrban R25 series and is made from AL6061 aluminium, ensuring a robust yet lightweight construction. The maximum permissible weight is 135 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 24 kg, making it a light and manoeuvrable companion in city traffic.

The Urbanico GR I-11’s braking system is fitted with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. Shimano GRX BR-RX400 brakes are used at both the front and rear, combined with 160 mm Shimano SM-RT56 brake discs. The brake levers – the Shimano GRX BL-RX600 at the front and the Shimano GRX ST-RX600-R at the rear – offer precise control and safety on every ride.

Gear changes are handled by the Shimano GRX RD-RX812 system with 11 speeds, controlled via the Shimano GRX ST-RX600 shifter. This allows for smooth and efficient adaptation to a wide variety of riding conditions. The rigid aluminium fork with a 1.1/8" – 1.5" steerer tube complements the bike’s sturdy construction.

Lighting is provided by a Hercules FS-50 front light with up to 50 lux and a Comus RZ-100 COB-LED rear light, ensuring good visibility and safety in the dark. Other features include Marwi SP828 aluminium pedals, a Hercules EC40 crankset, a Sunrace CSMX8 cassette with a gear ratio of 11–42T, and the KMC X11E drivetrain.

The handlebars are an aluminium gravel model with a width of 440 mm, fitted with diamond-pattern handlebar tape for a better grip. The Zecure A-head stem is 60 mm long, and the semi-integrated Acros AZF-579 headset ensures precise steering. The Schwalbe G-ONE Ultra tyres, size 50-622, offer excellent performance on a variety of surfaces.

The Urbanico GR I-11 is also fitted with a Selle Royal Vivo Ergo Sport Man saddle, mounted on a Kalloy SP-719 seatpost. The Monkey Load luggage rack, featuring a system carrier and spring-loaded flap, offers practical transport options. A Bafang H600 motor with 250 watts and 30 Nm of torque assists the rider, whilst the Bafang Intube battery, with a capacity of 410 Wh, provides the necessary power. The bike’s geometry is thoughtfully designed, with a reach of 375 mm, a stack of 630 mm, a seat tube length of 480 mm and a wheelbase of 1082 mm. The head tube and seat tube angles are 70 and 72 degrees respectively, which contribute to a comfortable riding position. Overall, the Hercules Urbanico GR I-11 offers a well-thought-out specification for the urban cyclist, combining both comfort and performance.
