Hercules Spyder Disc 24

The "Spyder Disc 24" from Hercules, released in 2023, is a versatile mountain bike that offers excellent value for money at a price of 779 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from AL 6061 aluminium from the MTB Series, ensuring a sturdy and durable construction. Weighing 17 kg and with a maximum rider weight of up to 115 kg, it offers a good balance between stability and lightness.

The bike is fitted with Tektro HD-M285 hydraulic disc brakes, which feature 160 mm brake discs at both the front and rear to ensure reliable braking performance. The front brake disc is slightly larger at 180 mm to provide additional braking power. A Shimano Altus M310 24-speed groupset handles the gear changes, offering a wide range of gear ratios. The Shimano SL-M315 shift levers and the SHIMANO FD-TY700 front derailleur complete the drivetrain.

The SR Suntour NVX-30DS fork, with 100 mm of adjustable travel, offers comfort and control on uneven terrain. The saddle is the Foaming FM-5310 model, mounted on a Kalloy SP-242 seatpost with a length of 300 mm and a diameter of 27.2 mm. Practical features such as SKS Velo Mountain clip-on mudguards, a chain guard and a Standwell centre-mount stand complete the specification.

The bike’s geometry is characterised by a reach of 375 mm, a stack of 604 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees and a seat tube angle of 73 degrees. With a seat tube length of 430 mm, a head tube length of 120 mm and a wheelbase of 1064 mm, the Spyder Disc 24 offers well-balanced ergonomics for comfortable riding on a variety of terrains.
