Hercules Rob Fold F8

The 2023 Hercules Rob Fold F8 is a versatile e-bike which, at a price of 3,699 EUR, is positioned in the upper mid-range. It is characterised by its robust aluminium frame from the eFold Series (AL 6061), which has a maximum permissible weight of 135 kg and a kerb weight of 22 kg. The model is fitted with high-quality hydraulic disc brakes: a Shimano MT200 at the front and a Tektro HD-T280 at the rear. Both brakes feature Tektro brake discs, with a diameter of 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear.

The Rob Fold F8 is fitted with a Shimano Nexus 8-speed gear system with a freewheel, operated via a Shimano Revoshifter. The rigid fork is made of aluminium and measures 1.5 inches. Lighting is provided by a Hercules FS-50 LED front light with up to 50 lux and a Busch & Müller Toplight 2C LED rear light. The pedals are by Wellgo, whilst the crankset is an FSA CK-220 with a length of 170 mm. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z1EHX chain and a Shimano 18T sprocket.

The handlebars are a Trekking AL model, 31.8 mm wide, with a 37° backsweep and a 28 mm rise. The grips are ergonomically shaped and feature an integrated clamp. The stem is a Zecure AllUp + Up2+, which can be adjusted in height by 150 mm. The bike is fitted with Schwalbe Big Apple tyres, which feature RaceGuard technology and have dimensions of 55-406.

The front hub is a Shimano HB-RM35 and the rear hub is a Shimano Nexus 8-speed freehub. The saddle is the Selle Royal LookIn Relaxed model, mounted on a Kalloy SP-DC1 seatpost. Other features include SKS mudguards, a Herrmans Slyde chain guard, a Massload centre stand and an ABUS battery lock with an XPlus cylinder. The luggage rack is a Monkey Load system rack with a spring-loaded flap.

Power is provided by a Bosch Active Plus GEN3 motor with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 50 Nm. Power is supplied by a Bosch PowerPack battery with a capacity of 500 Wh, which is charged using a Bosch 2 A charger. The Bosch Intuvia display provides a clear overview of the ride data. The bike’s geometry includes measurements such as a reach of 428 mm, a stack of 513 mm, a seat tube length of 470 mm, and head tube and seat tube angles of 72 and 73 degrees respectively. The wheelbase is 1070 mm, which contributes to stable handling.
