Hercules Pippa R3

The “Pippa R3” model from Hercules, released in 2023, is a versatile bicycle characterised by its robust construction and functional features. The frame is made from ATB Series aluminium – specifically AL 7005 – which gives the bike a robust yet lightweight structure. With a total weight of 16 kg and a maximum load capacity of 115 kg, the Pippa R3 offers a good balance between stability and manoeuvrability.

The braking system is fitted with Tektro V-brakes, supplemented by a coaster brake, ensuring reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions. The brake levers, also from Tektro, are specifically designed for V-brakes. The bike features a Shimano Nexus 3-speed gear system with a Shimano Revoshifter as the gear lever, enabling simple and intuitive gear selection.

The rigid steel fork offers 63 mm of travel, making it suitable for use on a variety of surfaces. Lighting is provided by the AXA Eco Line LED front light, with a brightness of up to 15 lux, and the AXA Slim Steady LED rear light with a parking light function, which ensure safety in low-light conditions.

Other features include Wellgo pedals, a Prowheel crankset, a Shimano 16T sprocket and a KMC B1 drivetrain. The handlebars are a Jugend Riser model with a diameter of 25.4 mm, a 10° back-bend angle and a 20 mm rise, combined with Velo ATB grips for comfortable handling. The A-Head stem is adjustable to customise the riding position.

The rims are made of aluminium and fitted with Kenda tyres, which feature reflective strips for better visibility in the dark. The front hub is a Shimano DH-C3000-3 hub dynamo, whilst the rear hub is the Shimano Nexus 3-speed with a coaster brake. The saddle is a youth ATB model mounted on a Kalloy seat post.

Additional practical features include plastic mudguards, a plastic chain guard, a Standwell centre-mount kickstand and a steel V-type luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap. The Hercules Pippa R3 is available at a price of 599 EUR and offers a balanced blend of functionality and comfort for everyday use.
