Hercules Edison Comp I-12

The 2022 Edison Comp I-12 from Hercules is a versatile e-bike that stands out for its high-quality features and robust construction. Priced at 4099 EUR, it offers a successful combination of performance and comfort. The frame is made from Trekking Sport Series aluminium with an intube design and a tapered head tube, ensuring stability and a maximum load capacity of up to 135 kg. The bike itself weighs 27 kg.

The Shimano MT410 hydraulic disc brakes, combined with the Shimano BL-MT402 brake levers, ensure reliable braking performance. An 180 mm Shimano SM-RT30 brake disc is fitted at the front. The gear system comprises the Shimano Deore RD-M6100 rear derailleur and the Shimano Deore SL-M6100 shifter, enabling precise gear changes. The SR Suntour NCX-E LO fork, with 63 mm of travel, air suspension and a lockout function, offers comfort on uneven terrain.

Lighting is provided by the HERCULES FH 40 LED front light, delivering up to 40 lux, and the Busch & Müller 2C rear light for the luggage rack. The aluminium Marwi SP828 pedals and the FSA CK-752 crankset complete the specification. The Shimano Deore CS-M6100 cassette offers a range of 10–51T, supported by the KMC X12E drivetrain.

The bike features trekking handlebars with a 31.8 mm diameter and 15° backsweep, as well as Ergo grips with integrated clamps. The adjustable A-head stem and the integrated tapered headset allow for individual customisation. The WEB 19 rims are fitted with Schwalbe Energizer Plus tyres in size 50-622, which impress with their GreenGuard technology and performance.

The front and rear hubs are fitted with thru-axles: FR: Shimano MT400 with 15 mm and RR: Shimano MT410 with 12 mm, both featuring the Centerlock system. The black Niro spokes have a diameter of 2 mm. The Selle Bassano Volare Icon saddle sits on a Kalloy SP-625 aluminium seatpost, which offers 45 mm of travel.

Other features include Curana Apollo 60 aluminium mudguards, a Horn Catena 17 chain guard, a Pletscher Comp Flex 40 kickstand and an ABUS IT1 XPlus battery lock. The R-Series i-Rack system carrier is fitted with a spring-loaded flap.

At the heart of the Edison Comp I-12 is the EP8 motor, delivering 250 watts of power and 85 Nm of torque, paired with a Simplo Intube battery with a capacity of 630 Wh. The Shimano E6100 display provides all the key information whilst riding. A Simplo 2A charger is provided for recharging.
