Ghost Riot AM AL Essential

The 2021 ‘Riot AM AL Essential’ model from Ghost is a versatile and high-performance mountain bike designed for challenging trails and descents. Priced at 2,599 EUR, this bike offers an impressive spec that will appeal to both advanced and ambitious riders.

The bike’s frame is made from robust RIOT AL, which is renowned for its durability and stability. For the brakes, Ghost has opted for the Shimano BR-MT520 203 mm disc, which, in combination with the Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers and the Shimano SM-RT66 203 mm front brake disc, offers excellent braking power and control.

The bike’s drivetrain is fitted with the Shimano XT RD-M8100 12-speed rear derailleur and the Shimano Deore SL-M6100 shifter, enabling precise and reliable gear changes. The grips are WTB Waffle, which offer a secure grip. The stem is also from Ground Fiftyone with a diameter of 31.8 mm.

The rims are Rodi Tryp 30; size S has a rim size of 584x30 mm, whilst sizes M to XL have a rim size of 622x30 mm. The tyres are Maxxis Minion DHF 3C MaxxTerra Exo 2.3 at the front and Maxxis Aggressor Exo 2.3 at the rear, providing excellent grip and stability. The front hub is a Fastace DF813 15x110 mm and the rear hub is a Fastace DR2116B 12x148 mm, complemented by DT Swiss 2.0 spokes.

The saddle is a WTB Volt, which offers comfort and support, whilst the seatpost is a Limotec Alpha 1 with a diameter of 34.9 mm and different travel lengths depending on frame size: 125 mm for size S, 150 mm for size M and 170 mm for sizes L and XL. The bike is rounded off by the GW Seatclamp with a diameter of 38.0 mm.
