Ghost E-ASX 160 Essential

The "E-ASX 160 Essential" model from Ghost, released in 2023, is a high-quality e-mountain bike designed for discerning riders. It is available at a price of 4,999 EUR. The bike’s frame is made of aluminium (ALUMINIUM EASX AL) and features a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5+-inch rear wheel, ensuring optimum traction and manoeuvrability.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano BRMT420 / 410 brakes with 203 mm discs at both the front and rear. The brake levers are also by Shimano (BLM4100), ensuring precise and reliable braking power. The drivetrain is a SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed system, which offers a wide range of gear ratios and is therefore suitable for all types of terrain.

The Rock Shox 35 Silver TK Solo Air fork with 160 mm of travel and the SR Suntour Raidon R shock, also with 160 mm of travel, offer excellent suspension and damping characteristics, ensuring a comfortable riding experience. The pedals are the VPE527 model, and the crankset is an ethirteen espec Plus with a 34T chainring.

The handlebars are Ground Fiftyone with a diameter of 31.8 mm, a width of 760 mm (size S) or 780 mm (size MXL) and a rise of 15 mm. The grips are WTB Wafel, and the stem is also a Ground Fiftyone with a length of 45 mm and an angle of 6 degrees. The headset model is Acros AZX205.

The wheelsets consist of WTB ST i30 rims fitted with DT Swiss 2.0 spokes. The tyres are Maxxis Minion DHF 3C MaxxTerra Exo+ in 2.5-inch size at the front and Maxxis Minion DHR II 3C MaxxTerra Exo+ in 2.6-inch size at the rear. The hubs are by Shimano (HBMT400B at the front and FHMT400B at the rear).

The saddle is a Selle Royal Vivo, mounted on a Ghost Alpha 1 seatpost with a diameter of 34.9 mm and a variable length depending on frame size (125 mm for S, 150 mm for M, 170 mm for L/XL). The saddle clamp is custom-made with a diameter of 34.9 mm.

At the heart of the drivetrain is the Bosch Performance Line CX motor, combined with a Bosch PowerTube battery with a capacity of 625 Wh. The display is a Bosch LED Remote, and the charger has a capacity of 4 Ah.

The frame geometry comprises a reach of 435 mm, a stack of 631 mm, a seat tube length of 390 mm, a top tube length of 587 mm, a head tube angle of 65 degrees and a seat tube angle of 77 degrees. The head tube is 100 mm long, the chainstay length is 460 mm, the bottom bracket is lowered by 30 mm, the standover height is 735 mm, the crank length is 165 mm and the wheelbase measures 1230 mm in total.
