Focus RAVEN 9.9

The "RAVEN 9.9" model from Focus, released in 2020, is a high-end mountain bike that stands out for its high-quality components and advanced technology. The bike’s frame is made from MAX technology carbon, which not only ensures high stability but also a low weight of just 8 kg. The frame is fitted with a PF30 bottom bracket shell and a 148x12 mm thru-axle; furthermore, the cables are routed internally, contributing to a clean, tidy appearance. The RAVEN 9.9’s brakes are from Shimano – specifically the XTR M9100 model, which is renowned for its reliability and powerful braking performance.

The bike’s fork is a Fox 32 Float SC Factory with 100 mm of travel and a 2-position remote control, allowing it to be adjusted for different terrain. The crankset is the RaceFace Next SL G5 made from carbon, which further reduces weight and ensures efficient power transfer. The cassette and drivetrain are also from Shimano, both from the XTR M9100 series, which offers a wide range of gear ratios with 12 speeds.

The handlebars are BBB carbon flat bars with a width of 720 mm, a rise of 0 mm and a backsweep of 9 degrees, which allows for a comfortable riding position. The grips are Velo VLG-975, which provide a good grip. The stem is an aluminium BBB Race model with a diameter of 31.8 mm. The tyres are Schwalbe Racing Ralph Evo Addix Speed and Schwalbe Racing Ray Evo Addix Speedgrip, both in size 2.25, which provide excellent grip and speed.

The wheelset consists of 29" DT Swiss XRC1200 carbon rims, which help to reduce weight whilst ensuring high stability. The saddle is a Prologo Scratch X8 with 7x9 mm carbon rails, offering additional comfort. The seatpost is a carbon BBB FlyPost with a diameter of 27.2 mm.

The RAVEN 9.9 is available at a price of 6,999 EUR and is aimed at ambitious mountain bikers who value top-class materials and components. It combines lightness, stiffness and comfort in a package that is equally suited to challenging trails and competitions.
