FALTER U 8.0

The "U 8.0" model from FALTER, released in 2024, is a high-quality bicycle characterised by its robust construction and modern features. Priced at 1,799 EUR, it offers good value for money for discerning cyclists. The bike’s frame is designed in the classic diamond shape and contributes to a maximum load capacity of 130 kg, whilst the bike’s own weight is 15 kg.

The braking system consists of Shimano AMT200 hydraulic disc brakes at both the front and rear, operated by Shimano BL-MT200 brake levers. The front brake discs have a diameter of 180 mm and the rear discs are 160 mm Centre Lock discs. The gear system is a Shimano Alfine 11-speed, controlled via the Shimano Alfine SL-S7002-10 gear lever, which enables precise and reliable gear selection.

The bike is fitted with a rigid Unicrown aluminium fork and features high-quality lighting comprising a Herrmans MR8 LED front light (180 lumens) and a Herrmans H-Cargo LED rear light with a parking light function. Power for the lights is generated by a Shimano DH-3D72 Disc QR hub dynamo. Power is transmitted via a Gates CDNB115 belt, which, together with the Gates CDNKGA46 crankset and the Gates CDN-22 sprocket, ensures quiet and low-maintenance operation.

The MATRIX HB-RB11 handlebars are 640 mm wide and fitted with MATRIX VLG-649D2 grips. The stem is an Ergotec Charisma Ahead, 110 mm long and 31.8 mm in diameter. Other components, such as the FSA City 1 1/8-inch semi-integrated headset and the MATRIX SP-C2016 seatpost, round off the high-quality specification.

The bike rides on Mach1 650 hollow-section aluminium rims, fitted with Schwalbe Marathon GT Reflex tyres in size 40-622. The front hub is a Shimano DH-3D72 Disc QR dynamo hub, whilst the rear features a Shimano Alfine 11-speed hub gear with a freewheel. The saddle is a Selle Royal Essenza Plus Moderate, which offers comfort even on longer journeys.

Other features include SKS A46R mudguards, a Hebie Chainbar chain guard for 38 teeth, an Ursus Mooi KSA 40 mm rear stand and an Atran Velo Tour Pro luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap and integrated rear light. The bike has a reach of 444 mm, a stack of 645 mm and a top tube length of 635 mm. The head tube angle is 72 degrees, the seat tube angle is 74 degrees, and the bottom bracket is dropped by 65 mm. The fork offset is 38 mm, the standover height 837 mm, the fork installation height 415 mm, the crank length 170 mm, the wheelbase 1117 mm and the bottom bracket height 290 mm. This geometry ensures a balanced riding position and a comfortable ride.
