FALTER U 4.0

The "U 4.0" model from FALTER, released in 2024, is a versatile bicycle designed for urban use. Priced at 929 EUR, it offers good value for money and is fitted with high-quality components. The bike’s frame is designed in the classic diamond shape and has a maximum load capacity of 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 14 kg.

The braking system consists of Promax TX123D V-brakes made of aluminium at both the front and rear, combined with Promax BL-39AP aluminium brake levers in a 4-finger design, which ensure reliable braking performance. The gear system is a Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub gear, operated via the Shimano Nexus SL-C3000-7 gear lever. This allows for easy and efficient shifting between the seven available gears.

The Unicrown Hi-Ten rigid fork ensures stability and durability, whilst lighting is provided by a MATRIX LED front light with 20 lux and a Herrmans H-Cargo LED rear light with a parking light function. The integrated Shimano hub dynamo powers the lights, so no batteries are required.

The bike is fitted with Marwi SP-823 pedals, a MATRIX VP-BC73C bottom bracket and a MATRIX PRO-A38 crankset with 38 teeth. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z6 chain, whilst the sprocket has 19 teeth. The handlebars, a MATRIX HB-RB11 with a width of 640 mm, are fitted with Herrmans DD36 grips and are complemented by a MATRIX AS-601 stem with a length of 90 mm.

The Selle Royal Ariel saddle and the MATRIX SP-222 aluminium seatpost provide additional comfort and functionality. SKS A51 PET mudguards offer protection against splashing water, whilst the Horn Catena 18 chain guard protects the chain from dirt. The Ursus Mooi centre-mounted kickstand ensures the bike stands securely, and the Atran Velo Tour Pro luggage rack with spring-loaded flap and integrated rear light offers practical transport options.

The bike is fitted with hollow-section aluminium rims, paired with Continental Speed Ride Reflex tyres in size 42-622. The hubs consist of a Shimano DH-C30001 hub dynamo with 15 watts at the front and a Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub gear with a freewheel at the rear. Stainless steel spokes round off the robust specification.

The bike’s geometry is defined by a reach of 400 mm, a stack of 606 mm and a top tube length of 585 mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees, whilst the seat tube angle is 73 degrees. Further dimensions include a bottom bracket drop of 60 mm, a fork offset of 45 mm and a standover height of 764 mm. The fork installation height is 460 mm, the crank length is set at 170 mm, the wheelbase measures 1087 mm and the bottom bracket height is 298 mm. These specifications make the FALTER U 4.0 a well-balanced and comfortable bike for everyday use in the city.
