FALTER U 4.0

The "U 4.0" model from FALTER, released in 2020, is a versatile bicycle that stands out for its robust construction and well-thought-out features. Priced at 629 euros, it offers good value for money. The frame is made from 6061 aluminium, which not only gives the bike stability but also keeps its weight relatively low at 14 kilograms. The brakes are Promax TX123D aluminium V-brakes, which, in combination with the Promax BL-39AP aluminium 4-finger brake levers, ensure reliable braking performance.

The gear system is a Shimano Nexus 7-speed with a freewheel, operated via the Shimano Nexus SL-C3000-7 gear lever. This allows for simple and efficient gear selection, which proves particularly useful in urban environments. The Unicrown rigid fork, made from Hi-Ten steel, ensures robust and low-maintenance front-end guidance. For lighting, the bike is fitted with an AXA Eco Line LED front light with 15 LUX and an AXA Blueline Steady 50 LED rear light, which features a parking light function. Power is generated via a Shimano hub dynamo, ensuring a reliable power supply without the need to change batteries.

Further features include Marwi SP-822 pedals and a square-taper bottom bracket with a Matrix Aluminium PRO-A38 crankset, which has 38 teeth and a length of 170 mm. The rear sprocket consists of Shimano components with 19 teeth, whilst the drivetrain uses a KMC Z-6 chain. The handlebars are Matrix NR-AL-16 with a width of 620 mm, complemented by Herrmans DD36 grips and a Matrix AS-601 stem measuring 25.4 mm x 90 mm at an angle of 15 degrees. The headset is an FSA H2246A.

The aluminium hollow-wall rims with 32 holes and stainless steel spokes, together with the Continental Speed Ride tyres (42-622), contribute to the bike’s durability and stability. The front hub is a Shimano DH-C30001 hub dynamo with 1.5 watts, and the rear hub is a Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub with a freewheel. The saddle is a Selle Royal Nuvola model, mounted on a Matrix aluminium seatpost (SP-222) measuring 27.2 mm x 350 mm.

In addition, the bike is fitted with SKS A46S mudguards, an Atran Velo Mooveable centre-mounted kickstand and an Atran Velo Tour Sport aluminium luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap, making it a practical companion for everyday use.
