FALTER FX 421 PRO

The "FX 421 PRO" model from FALTER, released in 2021, is a versatile bicycle that stands out for its robust construction and well-thought-out features. The frame is made from 6061 aluminium, which gives the bike a solid structure whilst keeping its weight down to a moderate 13 kg. The maximum rider weight is 60 kg, making it a suitable choice for younger riders.

The brakes are aluminium V-brakes, operated via 2.5-finger brake levers also made of aluminium, which provide reliable braking performance. The gear system is a 21-speed derailleur from Shimano, specifically the Tourney RD-TY500 model. This is operated by the Shimano Tourney SL-RS45 shifter and complemented by the FD-TY300 front derailleur, enabling precise and easy gear selection.

The bike is fitted with a rigid fork made from Hi-Ten steel, which contributes to its stability. Lighting is provided by a MATRIX LED front light with 20 lux and a MATRIX LED rear light with a parking light function, both powered by a Shimano hub dynamo. The pedals are VP-809 children’s pedals, suitable for the bike’s target audience.

The drivetrain is driven by a square-taper bottom bracket and a MATRIX crankset with 24/34/42 teeth. The cassette is a 7-speed Shimano model with 14–28 teeth, connected by a KMC Z-51 chain. The ergonomically shaped children’s handlebars from MATRIX and the Herrmans 89 children’s grips offer comfort and control. The stem and seatpost are also made of aluminium, contributing to the bike’s lightweight construction.

The bike sits on aluminium rims with 36 holes and is fitted with Schwalbe Road Cruiser tyres, which feature reflective strips for increased visibility. The front hub is fitted with a Shimano hub dynamo and the rear with a MATRIX 7-speed aluminium hub. Galvanised black spokes complete the wheels.

The saddle is a MATRIX model specially designed for children, and the chain guard is integrated into the crankset. Practical features such as an aluminium centre stand, plastic mudguards and a steel-tube luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap round off the specification. The FALTER FX 421 PRO is available for €429 and offers a balanced combination of functionality and comfort for young cyclists.
