FALTER FX 207

The "FX 207" model from the "FALTER" brand, released in 2020, offers robust and well-designed features at a price of 449 euros. The bike’s frame is made from 6061 aluminium, resulting in a total weight of 13 kg and thus offering a good balance between stability and lightness for a children’s bike. The brakes are aluminium V-brakes, with 2.5-finger brake levers also made of aluminium, ensuring reliable and easy operation.

The gearing is complemented by a Shimano Nexus 7-speed system with a coaster brake, operated via the Shimano Nexus SL-C3000-7 gear lever. This offers a user-friendly and low-maintenance way to change gears. The Unicrown rigid fork, made from Hi-Ten steel, ensures a robust front frame, whilst lighting is provided by the Matrix JY-7093-1 LED front light with 30 lux and a parking light function, as well as the Matrix JY-553M LED rear light with a parking light function. These lights are powered by a Shimano hub dynamo, which ensures a reliable power supply even in the dark.

The FX 207 is fitted with VP-260 children’s pedals, which are suitable for small feet. The bottom bracket is a square-taper model, and the crankset consists of a Matrix PRS 116 with 38 teeth and a length of 127 mm. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z-6 chain in combination with a 19-tooth Shimano sprocket. The handlebars are ergonomically shaped Matrix children’s handlebars, fitted with Herrmans children’s grips for a secure grip.

The stem is made of aluminium and the headset is a Matrix 1 1/8-inch model. The rims are made of hollow-section aluminium, with 28 holes for added stability, whilst the tyres are Matrix More Miles 1 Reflex models in size 47-406. The hubs comprise a Shimano DH-C30003 hub dynamo (3 watts) at the front and a Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub with coaster brake at the rear, with all spokes made from stainless steel.

The saddle is a Matrix children’s saddle, mounted on a steel seat post. Plastic mudguards from Matrix provide protection against splashes, and the aluminium centre-frame kickstand ensures the bike stands securely. The luggage rack consists of a steel tube with a spring-loaded flap, offering additional carrying options. Overall, the FALTER FX 207 is a well-equipped children’s bike that impresses in terms of both safety and comfort.
