Excelsior Swan-Retro Alu Youth

The “Swan-Retro Alu Youth” model from Excelsior, released in 2022, offers a wide range of well-designed features at a price of 469 EUR. The brakes are fitted with PROMAX “TX123” V-brakes, whilst the brake levers are made from aluminium by PROMAX “BL81”. Gear shifting is handled by the SHIMANO “Nexus” 3-speed shifter, which ensures simple and reliable operation.

The Unicrown fork gives the bike stability and ensures a comfortable ride. The lighting comprises the CONTEC “Retro Classic” LED front light and the CONTEC “TL-135” rear light with parking light function, which are powered by the SHIMANO “DH-C3000-3N-NT” hub dynamo. The FP-804 pedals and the 119 mm bottom bracket contribute to the bike’s robust construction.

The crankset measures 152 mm, whilst the sprocket has 19 teeth and the drivetrain is powered by the KMC “Z610” chain. The handlebars, a Lady Town model, are 540 mm wide and have a diameter of 25.4 mm, complemented by leather-look grips from SELLE ROYAL. The stem is a combination of steel and aluminium, also with a diameter of 25.4 mm and a length of 210 mm.

The rims are made of aluminium and feature a hollow-chamber design (19-507), paired with CST “Skip” tyres in size 47-507 with reflective strips for improved visibility. The front hub is the SHIMANO “DH-C3000-3N-NT” hub dynamo, whilst the rear hub is the SHIMANO “Nexus” 3-speed coaster hub. Stainless steel spokes provide additional stability.

The saddle, a SELLE ROYAL ‘8550’ model, is mounted on an aluminium seat post measuring Ø 27.2 x 300 mm. The painted steel mudguards from BÜCHEL are fitted with spoilers, as is the painted steel chain guard. An aluminium URSUS side stand ensures the bike stands securely. The luggage rack has a steel V-brace, is painted and features an expander and a spring-loaded flap, making it particularly practical for carrying items.
