Excelsior Gaudy Diamant

The “Gaudy Diamant” model from the “Excelsior” brand, released in 2024, is a classic yet functional bicycle which, at a price of 399 EUR, represents an attractive option for cyclists. The bike’s frame is made of steel and features a diamond shape, with a top tube height of 59 cm, ensuring a robust and stable construction. The maximum load capacity is 120 kg, whilst the bicycle itself weighs 12 kg, making it light enough for everyday use.

The braking system consists of PROMAX ‘RC-469’ racing brakes at both the front and rear, complemented by PROMAX aluminium brake levers, which provide reliable braking performance. The bike has two gears, controlled by the STURMEY ARCHER ‘Duomatic’ freehub at the rear, which allows for simple and low-maintenance gear changes. The fork is also made of steel, which contributes to the bike’s overall stability.

The pedals are FP-906 type with an aluminium cage, which ensures good power transfer. The crankset is a combination of aluminium and steel with 44 teeth and a length of 170 mm, whilst the STURMEY ARCHER sprocket has 22 teeth. The handlebars are made of aluminium with a diameter of 25.4 mm and a width of 540 mm, fitted with HERRMANS grips for optimum comfort. The stem is also made of aluminium and features an Ahead design. The wheels are fitted with hollow-section aluminium rims and CST ‘C1421’ tyres in size 25-622 in brown, which are fitted to both the front and rear. The spokes are made of stainless steel, which contributes to the durability of the wheelsets.
