Cannondale Tesoro Neo Carbon 2

Cannondale’s “Tesoro Neo Carbon 2” model from 2024 is a state-of-the-art e-bike, available for 4,999 EUR. The bike’s frame is constructed from the Tesoro Neo Carbon Series 2 carbon fibre and features an internal battery in the down tube as well as integrated cable routing. With a 148 mm dropout width and a 12 mm thru-axle, the frame is both stable and robust.

The braking system comprises SRAM S-300 hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm CentreLine X rotors at the front and rear, ensuring reliable braking performance. Gear changes are handled by the SRAM Apex Eagle system, supported by a SRAM NX Eagle shifter offering 12 speeds. The fork is also constructed from Tesoro Neo Carbon Series 2 carbon and features a 1-1/8" to 1.5" head tube diameter, flat-mount disc brakes and internal cable routing.

Lighting is provided by a Lezyne Hecto StVZO E65 front light, whilst the rear light is integrated into the rear mudguard. The crankset consists of FSA Bosch e-bike components with an SRAM Direct Mount and a 38T chainring. The cassette is a SRAM Eagle PG-1230 with a gear range of 11–50 teeth.

The handlebars on the Tesoro Neo Carbon 2 are made from a 6061 aluminium alloy, measure 700 mm in width and have a 7-degree rise. The grips are ergonomic lock-on grips. The stem is a Cannondale C1 Conceal made of aluminium with a +6-degree angle. The integrated headset has a 1-1/8" to 1.5" configuration.

The rims are Cannondale GXD10, featuring a double-walled aluminium construction with 28 spoke holes, fitted with Vittoria Terreno Zero tyres in size 700x35c. The hubs are by Formula, featuring sealed bearing cartridges and thru-axles (front 12x110 mm, rear 12x148 mm). The spokes are made of stainless steel and have a gauge of 14 g.

The saddle is a Selle Royal Vivo Active Ergo, mounted on a Cannondale 3 seatpost made from 6061 aluminium, measuring 27.2x400 mm. Extruded aluminium mudguards with an integrated rear light are fitted to protect against splash water. A sturdy kickstand and a luggage rack for panniers complete the specification.

The e-bike is powered by a Bosch Performance Line SX motor, which provides assistance up to a speed of 25 km/h. Power is supplied by a Bosch Compact Powertube battery with a capacity of 400 Wh. The system is controlled via a top-tube system controller with a mini remote control, and charging is carried out using a Bosch 2A charger.

The frame geometry comprises a reach of 401 mm, a stack of 633 mm, a seat tube length of 544 mm, a top tube length of 595 mm, a head tube angle of 72 degrees and a seat tube angle of 73 degrees. The head tube is 193 mm long, the chainstays measure 450 mm and the fork offset is 50 mm. The wheelbase measures 1083 mm in total and the standover height is 838 mm.
