Cannondale Habit Carbon 2

The "Habit Carbon 2" model from Cannondale, released in 2024, is a high-quality mountain bike that stands out for its advanced technology and precision craftsmanship. The price for this model is 4,499 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from full carbon and, with 130 mm of travel, offers an optimal balance between stiffness and flexibility. The Proportional Response Suspension and geometry ensure balanced handling, whilst the 55 mm chainline and ISCG05 mount offer versatile riding options.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano Deore 6120 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm RT64 rotors at the front and rear, ensuring reliable deceleration even in demanding conditions. The brake levers are also from Shimano Deore and offer precise control.

The Habit Carbon 2’s drivetrain consists of a Shimano XT component, combined with a Shimano SLX 12-speed shifter. The drivetrain includes a Shimano SLX 12-speed cassette with a 10–51-tooth range, which, in combination with the Shimano FC-6120 30-tooth crankset, offers a wide range of gear ratios.

The RockShox Pike Select fork, with 140 mm of travel and DebonAir technology, ensures smooth damping, whilst the RockShox Deluxe Select+ rear shock, with 130 mm of travel and adjustable rebound, provides additional control and comfort.

The bike is fitted with a Cannondale 3 Riser handlebar made from 6061 aluminium, which has a width of 780 mm, a rise of 15 mm and a backsweep of 8 degrees. The Cannondale TrailShroom grips offer good grip and comfort. The stem is also made from 6061 aluminium and has a 31.8 mm clamp diameter with no angle.

The wheelsets consist of Stan’s NoTubes Crest Arch MK4 rims with 28 spokes, which are tubeless-ready. The Maxxis Dissector tyres in size 29x2.4" (or 27.5x2.4" for the XS size) are also tubeless-ready and, together with the Maxxis Rekon tyre at the rear, offer excellent grip and traction.

The hubs are by Shimano, with the MT400 model fitted at the front and the MT510 model at the rear. Both hubs are secured by thru-axles, 15x110 mm at the front and 12x148 mm at the rear.

The saddle is a Cannondale Scoop Shallow Sport with steel rails, mounted on a Cannondale DownLow dropper seatpost, which offers an adjustment range of up to 170 mm depending on frame size.

The bike has a gross weight of approximately 50,000 g. The geometry comprises a reach of 480 mm, a stack of 641 mm, a seat tube length of 445 mm and a top tube length of 617 mm. The head tube angle is 66 degrees, the seat tube angle is 78 degrees, the head tube length is 130 mm and the chainstay length is 440 mm. The fork offset is 44 mm, the standover height is 751 mm and the wheelbase is 1,237 mm.
