Cannondale 29 M Habit 4

Cannondale’s 2021 ‘29 M Habit 4’ model is a versatile and high-performance mountain bike designed for challenging trails and adventures. Priced at €2,899, it offers a solid spec and modern technology that will appeal to both beginners and experienced mountain bikers.

The bike’s frame is made from SmartForm C1 Alloy and offers 130 mm of suspension travel. It is proportionally balanced and features an Ai offset bottom bracket, ISCG05 mounts, a BSA 83 bottom bracket and a post-mount brake mount. The tapered head tube provides additional stiffness and control on challenging descents.

For the brakes, Cannondale has opted for Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm RT30 rotors at the front and rear, ensuring reliable stopping power in any situation. Gear changes are handled by the SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed system, which ensures precise and smooth shifting. The shifter is also an SRAM SX Eagle model.

The RockShox 35 Gold RL fork with 140 mm of travel and DebonAir technology, along with the RockShox Deluxe Select+ rear shock with 130 mm of travel and adjustable rebound, offer outstanding suspension performance, effectively absorbing bumps and ensuring a comfortable ride.

The crankset consists of the SRAM X1-1000 Eagle DUB with a 30T chainring and Ai-Offset, whilst the bottom bracket is a SRAM DUB BSA MTB83. The cassette is a SRAM SX Eagle with a 11–50-tooth range.

The bike’s cockpit features a Cannondale 3 Riser handlebar made from 6061 aluminium with a 15 mm rise, 8° sweep and a width of 780 mm, combined with Fabric FunGuy grips. The stem is also made from 6061 aluminium and has a diameter of 31.8 mm with a 0° angle. The integrated headset with sealed angular contact ball bearings ensures precise steering.

The wheelsets consist of WTB STX i23 TCS rims, which are tubeless-ready and fitted with stainless steel spokes (14g). The tyres are a Maxxis Minion DHF (29 x 2.5") at the front and a Maxxis Dissector (29 x 2.4") at the rear, both with EXO casings and tubeless-ready.

The hubs are Shimano MT400 models with a 15x110 mm thru-axle at the front and a 12x148 mm thru-axle at the rear, ensuring high stability and durability. The saddle is a Cannondale Ergo XC, mounted on a TranzX dropper seatpost, which is internally routed and offers a travel of 125 mm (S) or 150 mm (M–XL), depending on the frame size.
