BH Bikes SPIKE 2.5

The SPIKE 2.5 model from BH Bikes, released in 2023, is a versatile bike that stands out for its solid spec and attractive value for money. Priced at 659 EUR, it offers a wide range of technical features suitable for both everyday use and more demanding rides.

The SPIKE 2.5’s frame is made from a lightweight yet robust aluminium alloy, which reduces the bike’s total weight to 15 kg. The maximum load capacity is 165 kg, ensuring high load-bearing capacity. The frame geometry comprises a seat tube length of 480 mm, a top tube length of 600 mm, a reach of 406 mm and a stack of 634 mm. The head tube angle is 69 degrees and the seat tube angle is 73 degrees, which allows for a balanced riding position. The head tube length is 120 mm and the chainstay length is 455 mm, whilst the bottom bracket height is 310 mm.

The bike is fitted with an SR Suntour XCM RLR Remote Lock fork, which offers 100 mm of travel, ensuring a comfortable ride across a wide variety of terrain. The braking system consists of Shimano MT200 disc brakes with 180 mm rotors at the front and rear, operated by Shimano MT201 brake levers, guaranteeing reliable braking performance in all conditions.

The SPIKE 2.5’s drivetrain is dominated by Shimano Deore components. It features a Shimano Deore 5120 10-speed groupset and Shimano Deore 4100 shifters, which enable precise and smooth gear changes. The crankset is a Shimano M5100 with a length of 175 mm and a 30-tooth chainring, complemented by a Shimano Deore M4100 cassette with a range of 11 to 46 teeth.

The drivetrain is rounded off by FSA Team Issue components. The pedals are from WELLGO, whilst the bottom bracket is also by Shimano. The handlebars, grips, stem, headset, rims, saddle, seatpost and saddle clamp are all BH’s own-brand components and offer reliable performance.

The wheelsets consist of BH Lite Scorpion rims with Shimano TX505 hubs and Inox 2.0 spokes. The tyres are Mitas Ocelot 2.35, which offer good grip on both tarmac and unpaved paths.
