With the Compact, Deuter presents a new bike backpack that has been specially designed for demanding enduro routes. The bike backpack is characterised by a body-hugging fit, an optimised Airstripes back system and a well thought-out layout and is made from recycled, PFAS-free materials.

Backpack manufacturer Deuter is expanding its range with the new Compact bike backpack, which has been specially developed for demanding enduro routes. The development team placed particular emphasis on a stable, close-fitting design and high wearing comfort. The Deuter Compact is designed to enable bikers to maintain an optimum body position on the bike even on technically demanding trails with drops and root passages. The vest-like shoulder straps in combination with wide, adjustable hip fins contribute to this. This design is intended to ensure a stable centre of gravity and balanced weight distribution.

Optimised back system for improved ventilation

A key feature of the Deuter Compact is the revised Airstripes back system. According to Deuter, this has been weight-optimised and now provides even better ventilation to prevent heavy sweating on the back. The use of lighter material should also improve the weight-to-comfort ratio and relieve the back both on demanding downhill rides and on longer day tours. To further optimise the fit, the rucksack has a chest strap that can be operated with one hand.

Well thought-out layout of the Deuter Compact

In terms of equipment and organisation, the Deuter Compact is geared towards the specific requirements of enduro riders. A helmet holder offers space for full-face and half-shell helmets. The rucksack also has a stowable protector holder. There is space inside for hydration systems with a volume of up to three litres.

A separate tool compartment, two hip fin pockets and two elasticated side pockets ensure that tools and other important items are neatly stowed away. An additional smartphone pocket, compression straps and a rain cover round off the features.

Two size variants for flexible use

The Compact is available in two different sizes. The women's model offers a basic volume of 12 litres, while the regular model holds 14 litres. Both versions have a volume extension of 3 litres each, which also allows for extended tours with a little more luggage. This flexibility makes the rucksack versatile, from short bike park visits to longer enduro tours.

Sustainability at the centre of product development

Deuter also focussed on sustainability when developing the Compact. The backpack is certified as a bluesign product and is made from recycled materials. In addition, PFAS is not used at all during production. These efforts are confirmed by certification with the Green Button sustainability label. The Compact ClimatePartner is also certified, which emphasises the manufacturer's commitment to environmentally friendly production processes.
