Van Rysel presented the RCR-G The Ace at Sea Otter Europe. This limited-edition model differs from the standard RCR-G in that it comes with two complete sets of wheels and a special specification. However, the manufacturer has not specified the exact number of units in this limited edition.
Frame and specifications of the Van Rysel RCR-G The Ace
The frame is made from high-modulus carbon and features a special two-tone paint finish. On the rear triangle and fork, the manufacturer uses a two-component polyurethane coating called Raptor. This is designed to protect the surface against stone chips and blends seamlessly into the smooth, painted areas. The design plays on the playing-card motif of the name.
The manufacturer has fitted the Deda Combo RCR-R carbon cockpit. This handlebar-stem system is also used on the Decathlon-CMA-CGM team’s RCR-R Pro. The groupset is a Shimano Ultegra Di2.
Two sets of wheels fitted as standard
And then there’s another very special feature of this special edition. The RCR-G The Ace comes with two sets of wheels. This is virtually unheard of as standard. Hardly any manufacturer offers anything like this. For gravel riding, the Swiss Side Gravon 500 with 40 mm-wide Vittoria T30 tyres is included. The second wheelset consists of Van Rysel VR 50s with 28 mm-wide Continental GP 5000 S TR tyres for road rides.
The visual distinction is made through the colour scheme: the red Ace indicates the gravel configuration, whilst the black Ace denotes the road version. Switching between the two set-ups allows the same bike to be used for different purposes.
Accessories and prices
Decathlon is adding six further products to the limited-edition range, all of which complement the style. These include a Helmet, Cycling shoes, a Glasses, as well as a cycling outfit comprising a jersey, Cycling shorts and Socks. The collection’s logo – the Ace card – is featured on the shoes and the jersey.
The Van Rysel RCR-G The Ace costs 6,600 euros and is, for example, available at Decathlon. This price includes both sets of wheels, the electronic Ultegra Di2 groupset, the carbon cockpit and the special paint finish. The model is now available to order. The manufacturer describes it as a strictly limited edition, but does not specify the exact number of units.
