Direct mail order companies offer excellent value for money, but are often criticised when it comes to service. Rose now wants to offer a home service, including a test drive, at the desired time.

If you buy your bike from a direct mail order company, you're often in a bad position when it comes to bike service at the specialist dealer around the corner: long waiting times, preferential treatment for in-house bikes. This is where the mobile service provider Livecycle wants to come in. The Munich-based company is fully focussed on bike service and offers a mobile service in addition to local stores. In the event of problems with the bike, the mechanics travel throughout Germany for a home service.

The mail-order company Rose also wants to capitalise on this customer proximity in the future. The Bocholt-based brand is cooperating with Livecycle and is offering premium delivery of its bikes, for example. This includes delivery of the ready-to-ride bike on the desired date and to the desired address throughout Germany at an introductory price of 49 euros.

A so-called Cycle Artist from Livecycle hands over the fully assembled bike to the customer and works with them to customise it to their needs. The customer then receives a detailed introduction to the technology of their new bike. This service is particularly exciting for technically complex e-bikes. Service, repairs and warranty processing for Rose Bikes will also be handled by the partner Livecycle in future and will therefore also be possible on the move, i.e. at the customer's home.

Seven stores in Germany

LiveCycle has five permanent stores across Germany: Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Essen and Frankfurt. Workshops are also due to open in Stuttgart and Cologne in July 2018. In addition to the Biketown stores in Bocholt and Munich, Rose customers can also pick up and have their new bikes adjusted here free of charge, receive advice and can also order their desired bike for a test ride.

The Livecycle service can also be used by customers of other bike brands, both in local stores and on the move at home. fahrrad.de with the Votec brand also cooperates with Livecycle. Mail order giant Canyon recently announced a similar conceptHowever, there is no concrete information on this yet.

Professionally, the experienced test editor now focusses on e-mountainbikes. In recent years, the qualified sports scientist and trained journalist has tested over 300 bikes and more than 40 different motor systems in the laboratory and in practice.
